Announcement – Managing Director Appointment - New -

The Board of Directors ("Board") of CFA Society Hong Kong ("Society") is pleased to announce that Mr. Eric Chiang joined the Society on 3 May 2021 as the Managing Director. Eric will be responsible for implementing the strategies set by the Board and formulating the corresponding action plans as well as managing the Society's staff office. He will also serve as the critical liaison point between the stakeholders and the Society.

Eric joined the Society from the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (“HKICPA”), where he served as the Deputy Director – Advocacy and Practice Development. He was responsible for managing technical projects on advocacy, regulatory matters and the tax faculty. During his five-year tenure at the HKICPA, Eric has worked on various flagship projects, including comparative studies on corporate governance among five major international capital markets and anti-money laundering (AML).  As for the management of the tax faculty, Eric has led the written submissions on new domestic and international tax legislation, guidelines and managed government relationships in Hong Kong and China on tax policy matters. He also organised tax seminars and conferences to introduce the latest Hong Kong, China and global taxation developments.

Eric started his career with a Big Four accounting firm; and subsequently took up management roles in accounting, finance, overseeing project management with multinational companies in Hong Kong and China.

Eric is a fellow member of the HKICPA and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales. He received a Master of Science degree in Global Business from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
